The Annual Port Isabel Christmas Lighted Boat Parade will be held rain or shine on the first Saturday of December annually beginning at 6 pm at Southpoint Marina. From there, the parade makes its way across the Laguna Madre Bay and along the bayfront of South Padre Island and ends at Louie's Backyard.
The event is hosted by the Port Isabel Chamber of Commerce and features boats of all sizes decorated in their holiday finest. Designated viewing areas throughout the route offer free public viewing.
Trophies and prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in each of six divisions: commercial boats; small power boats 18 feet and under; medium power boats 19 to 29 feet; large power boats 30 feet and over;sailboats 25 feet and under; and sailboats 26 feet and over. Vessels are judged on first impression, theme, special effects, amount of lights and animated characters.
