8th Annual Summer Causeway Run & Fitness Walk

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN! T-shirts are guaranteed for participants who register before Tuesday, August 15th! Scheduled for the 16th of September, 2023, the 8th Annual will be even bigger and better. This year’s event will also follow the 6.2 mile (10K) course starting at the Port Isabel Community Center, continuing on to the Queen Isabella Causeway and over the Laguna Madre Bay and ending in front of Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island. Awards, race results and snacks will be available immediately following the race/walk at Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island.
START: Causeway Run starts at 7:00 a.m. sharp at the Port Isabel Community Center. Fitness Walk starts at the Community Center at 7:15 a.m.

ALL ON-SITE LATE REGISTRATION CHECK IN/ T-SHIRT AND WALKER WRISTBAND PICK UP: Port Isabel Community Center, 213 Yturria St., Port Isabel, Monday, September 11th-Thursday, September 14th, Friday, Sept. 15 from 3 – 7 p.m. or Saturday, Sept. 16th from 5:30 – 6:30 a.m. $40 (10K Run); $35 (5K Walk); $30 Students & Military with ID (10k Run or 5K Walk).
T-SHIRTS ARE GUARANTEED for all participants that register before Tuesday, August 15th!
RACE COURSE: 10K (6.2 mi.) Starts at the Port Isabel Community Center and ends at Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island. One major incline. Water stations at locations along course and at the finish line. Police and EMS protection is provided. The run is USA Track and Field certified: Certification #TX15006WG. (See map on reverse)

FITNESS WALK COURSE: 3 miles. This course starts at the Port Isabel Community Center and ends at the Padre Balli statue on South Padre Island. THIS IS NOT A RACE. IT IS A PARTICIPATION WALK.
SHUTTLE SERVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE!
ABSOLUTELY NO PETS ARE ALLOWED IN THE RUN OR WALK!
AWARDS & PRESENTATIONS: Medals will be given to the overall 1st through 3rd male and female winners as well as 1st through 3rd place winner in each male and female age division of the 10K. Overall winners will be ineligible for awards in their respective age divisions. Awards will be available immediately following the race and scoring at Louie’s. FREE refreshments (will be available as supplies last). PARTICIPANTS CROSSING THE FINISH LINES WILL RECEIVE FINISHER MEDALS (while supplies last). No refunds, no exceptions.
